About Nurain

Nurain Janah is a professional director, consultant, executive coach and speaker. 

Her mission is to transform systems for equitable outcomes.

She regularly speaks and coaches on topics ranging from diversity, inclusion and resilience to non-linear careers and authentic leadership. She founded Authenticity Aotearoa, an award-winning charity empowering women of colour to express their authentic selves and working to create inclusive workplaces.

Nurain is currently Executive Vice Chair at Hotels Resorts Construction Pvt Ltd, an exclusive hotels and resorts contractor providing turnkey resort building construction services. HRC is a second-generation family-run business based in the Maldives with globally recognised projects including Anantara Banana Island Resort in Doha and Waldorf Astoria Maldives Ithaafushi.

Nurain also serves as Trustee of Foundation North, a philanthropic impact investment funder. She was selected as an Explorer by AirTree Ventures, a venture capital hedge fund. A Chartered Accountant and with a Masters in Professional Accounting and a Bachelor of Science, Nurain previously worked as a Manager at Ernst & Young in the restructuring, turnaround and insolvency industry.

Born in the Maldives, Nurain moved to Auckland, New Zealand and grew up a proud Muslim ‘Kiwi’, passionate about transforming systems for equitable outcomes. She is actively involved in initiatives that empower women and girls, particularly in her two home countries - New Zealand and Maldives.

Nurain currently works internationally, splitting her time between New Zealand, Maldives and other cities where business and various initiatives take her.
