We help you define where you belong.
Rehendhi is a social enterprise that offers bespoke coaching and mentorship services traditionally inaccessible for people from diverse backgrounds, empowering them to live to their true potential - regardless of challenges or systems.
Named after the indigenous Maldivian matriarchal leader, Rehendhi Khadeejah, we honour her strength and resilience. Despite being one of the most popular historical figures in the Maldives and ruling for almost 40 years, there is hardly any record of Rehendhi Khadeejah’s stories, genealogy or accomplishments. Today, we pay tribute to her legacy by advocating for historically oppressed groups.
We want to build a world where diverse leaders become confident in their worth, proud of their heritage and brave enough to raise their hand.
As diverse leaders, we face a “bamboo” or “concrete ceiling”.
Barriers that are tougher to crack even when we work twice as hard.
Ambition isn’t the problem. The workforce is filled with qualified, high achieving talent. Yet our journey to advancement is filled with systemic roadblocks like unconscious bias, unwelcoming environments and being overlooked for promotions.
At Rehendhi, we write our own stories. We lead with courage to disrupt the systems that work against us. We empower each other as a collective so we can thrive as individuals.
Meet the founder,
Nurain Janah
My mission is to transform systems for equitable outcomes. I do this through my philanthropic and investment work and by telling my story as a speaker, by coaching and mentoring young leaders and through my work with Authenticity Aotearoa.
Growing up in Aotearoa New Zealand as a 1.5 generation ‘Kiwi’, has taught me what it means to truly belong, and what it means to feel like you cannot no matter how hard you work. I have experienced the spectrum of barriers and challenges that migrants, women of colour and young people face.
As I now work and do philanthropy work between Aotearoa New Zealand and Dhivehi Raajje (the Maldives), my ancestral home, I can also see the impact that a lack of opportunity, financial security and circumstance can have on our imagination, inspiration, and leadership potential, and of course our physical, mental, cultural and emotional health.
I do this work with Rehendhi because we need to create systems and models where communities nurture each other to reach their dreams no matter what their circumstance and we move from the hero narrative of leadership to a more collective, empathetic mode of leadership that centers healing, ancestral wisdom, and deep connection with each other.
So do you want to be part of a community that centers all of the above? Join us in our next coaching programme or contact us to find out more!
